Michael Pape & Associates, PA, established in 1984, is a landscape architectural and planning firm whose registered professional staff represents over 120 years of collective experience in providing professional services to a variety of clients. The oldest and largest such firm in Ocala, MPA takes an individual approach to the specific requirements of each project and client, resulting in a record of successful collaboration with other design professionals and a host of awards from ASLA, FNGLA, and other organizations. The firm's capabilities cover a broad scope of services--from large-scale land use planning through site design and construction administration.
Michael Pape – President/Principal -- 35 years at MPA A Texas native and a Floridian since 1957, Michael attended the US Naval Academy before graduating from UF in ‘77. After starting his career with Sasaki Associates (Watertown, MA), in 1979 he cofounded Land Design Resources in Ocala, then established Michael Pape & Associates PA in 1984. Licensed in 1977, his career as a landscape architect and land planner now spans 41 years.
Trish Pape – PLA/Principal -- 33 years at MPA Born in Kansas and a Floridian since 1960, Trish graduated from both FSU (’77) and UF (’85), becoming a licensed Landscape Architect in 1985. Having previously worked at her father’s Crystal River architectural firm and with McCumber Golf Design (Jacksonville), she now has 40 years’ experience specializing in land planning and site design.
Terri Outlaw – Office Manager -- 24 years at MPA A native of Orlando and a resident of Marion County since 1994. Terri is the third longest-tenured member of MPA’s team, having joined us in 1994. Her attention to detail and managerial expertise have been helping the MPA team stay organized and efficient for almost 25 years now.
Allison Tucker – Senior Associate -- 19 years at MPA A Sumter County native, Allison is a ‘97 graduate of UF. Having started her career in Boston, she returned to Florida and joined MPA in 1999. Her expertise in landscape architectural design, Cadd production management, and IT now spans 21 years.
John Olters PLA – Associate Principal -- 18 years at MPA A native Floridian from Miami, US Navy veteran, and ’93 graduate of UF, John was licensed in 1996. After beginning his career in Ocala, John joined MPA in 2000. His professional experience now spans 25 years, and his design expertise covers the full scope of landscape architecture.
Suzanne Stancil PLA – Vice President/Associate Principal -- 14 years at MPA Born in Marion County, Suzanne is an ’02 graduate of UF and was licensed in ’06. After starting her career in Ocala, Suzanne joined MPA in ’04, and her 16-year career has covered the full scope of landscape architecture. We are immensely proud to include the attached announcement about Suzanne’s promotion to Associate Principal and Vice President of MPA!
William “Bumpy” Needham – Senior Associate -- 14 years at MPA A Marion County native and ’98 graduate of Florida Gateway College, Bumpy started his career in Ocala and joined MPA in 2004. With a career now spanning 20 years, his expertise ranges from landscape design to construction administration and maintenance consulting. He’s also been an ISA-Certified Consulting Arborist since 2008.
Josiah McKelvey – Associate/CADD Technician -- 2 years at MPA Born in North Carolina and an Ocala resident since 1997, Josiah is the newest member of the MPA team. Having studied CADD Technology, he started his career in Ocala when his interest in landscape architecture led him to join MPA in 2016, specializing in the skill of translating design concepts to construction documents.
Christina Vivona – Intern -- A New Jersey native and a Florida resident since 2000, Christina is a 3rd year LA student at UF, on track to graduate in 2020. MPA has for many years offered internship opportunities to emerging professional, and we are pleased to share with Christina a mutually beneficial experience this summer and fall, as she prepares for a future in our profession.
